We had our countertop installed through Select surfaces and had one of the best experiences, all the way from the initial estimate to delivery and install. Two slabs are joined so seamlessly it is hard to spot even if I know it! (The joint runs through the middle of the picture posted). They use state of the art measuring and cutting techniques. Prompt and courteous. Sets the expectations for measurements and delivery ahead of time and sticks to it. Makes it so much easy when working with different contractors and are depending on other work to be completed.

We’ve used Select Surfaces for around 4-5 years now with NEVER a problem…..They’re the only Cambria fabricator we’d use and there are several to choose from…..Workmanship, communication, timely completions are all part of what you’ll get…..Along with that, Quinn and Renato are GREAT to work with!…..John & Brigitte (J & B Kitchen Designs).

Select Surfaces is one of my best sources for countertops. Their staff is fabulous and the installations are always loved by my clients. Never had a problem they couldn’t solve. Great communications.

Inspired Living Spaces

I have worked with select for several years. We often need to do little tweaks to our orders and they go the extra mile for us. They provide excellent service and have great installation crews.

Select Surfaces has just recently begun selling direct to customers, and I am glad they did – we had an excellent experience with them from start to finish. We met Select Surfaces because they are the only Cambria fabricator in the Chicagoland area, and after meeting with Molly in our home, we were impressed by their process and guarantee, so we decided to go with them to order Silestone quartz even though we wouldn’t get the Costco benefit.

I have known Select Surfaces for almost 10 years now and they always are a pleasure to do business with. Their team is always professional and polite with me and my staff, and my clients. Their fabrication of Cambria and installation is close to perfection. Very good seams, which is important to me. My clients are always very happy with the final results. I would highly recommend Select Surfaces to handle any of your countertop needs. They are my exclusive Cambria fabricator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Quartz and Granite?

Granite is a natural stone quarried from the earth and cut into slabs. Quartz is also a natural stone, but it goes through a manufacturing process that makes it non-porous, more consistent, and more durable. Both are very durable options for kitchen countertops and come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

Does Granite or Quartz Stain?

Granite by nature, is porous, however we seal each piece before it leaves our shop, so your granite countertops will be protected from staining. Most granites needs to be re-sealed periodically.

Quartz is 100% non-porous so it will not stain, it never needs to be sealed, and most brands come with and 10 year to Lifetime warrantee.

Can I put hot items on my countertops?

Although Quartz is heat-resistant, we wouldn’t recommend placing hot items directly on your countertop. Granite is more tolerant therefore and withstand higher temperatures. You won’t melt your countertop, but extreme heat could lead to discoloration or thermal shock which could cause a crack. We always recommend using a trivet and not placing any hot items directly on the countertops.

What stone is best for outdoor use?

Granite is most popular for outdoor use because of its sturdy, weather-resistant properties.
Another recommendation for outdoor use is Dekton by Cosentino. Dekton is made from a proprietary blend of natural quartz stone, porcelain, and glass.

These are fused and compressed under high pressure to create a slab material that is very dense and compact, making it a fade and weather resistant for outdoor applications.

What is the price per sq. ft. for quartz?

Our entire process from measure, fabrication, material, and professional installation is different from project to project. Each countertop is unique, and our pricing always includes custom measure, fabrication & installation. Use one of our estimating tools, or give us a call and we can get a quote started today.

Can I use the sink cut out as a cutting board?

Due to the fabrication process, the stone from the sink cutout is not usable. However, we’re always happy to make a trivet to match your countertops if you’d like one. Just ask your designer to add it to your order.

What is the lead time?

Each project is unique and there can be many variables that affect the lead time. Most projects are completed in about 2 weeks.
